JAMSHEDPUR: The loud cheers from a packed house was not enough for hosts
Jamshedpur FC to register their first goal or first victory of the season. And
ATK, too, could not break the deadlock at both sides shared honours at the end of their
Indian Super League encounter.
While the visitors did try to create chances with a changed formation, Jamshedpur FC relied mostly on counter-attack to find the elusive first goal but to no avail. But the stalemate was enough for the newcomers to move to fifth from their seventh position at the start of the day owing to their clean sheets so far and better goal difference. the Teddy Sheringham-coached defending champions, however, were left languishing at ninth spot and still enduring their worst start of the tournament so far.
Prabir Das was the best player on the field with his incisive runs on the right flank and his clearances for ATK whenever the need arose. The visitors had to lose Eugeneson Lyndoh at the end of the first half due to an injury he suffered a few minutes back.
Both teams made some changes to the squad. The absence of injured centre-back Anas Edathodika meant that coach Steve Coppell had to tweak his defence. It was, however, taken care of by the return of right fullback Andre Bikey.
